Hi KJTMA Parents!

Kids Heart Challenge is in full swing here at KJTMA! Students are learning ways to keep their heart healthy, as well as the importance of helping others! Our campus has set a goal to raise $5,000 for kids with sick hearts. If we do, ANY student who has raised at least $75 will be able to participate in a Student-Faculty Basketball Tournament! Keep reading to see which grade level is IN THE LEAD, and let's work together to be heart heroes! If every student raises just $10, we will meet our goal!

Will you help us reach our goal? There is still time for your grade level to take the lead! Download the Kids Heart Challenge app to register or go to www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge today and join our team to help save lives.

Thank you for making our community heart healthy…KJTMA HAS HEART!

Principal's Message

LogoIt is with great honor and humility that I have been selected to serve as the first campus leader of Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy! My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 17 years as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. In each of my roles, it has been a top priority to ensure the success of each student by providing the best instructional opportunity.

At Katherine Johnson, we will execute our commitment to helping all children develop their intellectual capacity, academic skills, strengthen their technology skills, and social competence so that they will be prepared to effectively negotiate the demands associated with living in an ever-changing 21st century. It is our aim to instill within each student the essential principles of pride, respect, and responsibility so that they will become productive and contributing members of our increasingly global society. High expectations will be established and maintained while providing a safe community that fosters respect for individual differences and provides a technology-focused learning experience.

Most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the collaboration of students, staff, & stakeholders. I am very excited about working with the involved parents that will help to make Katherine Johnson a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow.  I look forward to doing whatever I can to support your efforts and encourage you to become a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).  Volunteering and participating at various events throughout the school year will also benefit not only your child but all of the children of Katherine Johnson.

Please know that I am always available to discuss any questions or concerns related to serving you and the children of Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy.

With great appreciation,

Kieshla C. Wylie, Principal
